Toe Raises

The calf muscle is the large muscle located on the back of the leg under the knee region. This muscle acts to plantar flex, or point the toes. The calf muscle helps us take each step forward by allowing us to "push" off the ground. Toe raises are an excellent way to strengthen this muscle group.

1. Stand with both feet flat on the floor

2. Point the toes on both feet causing your heels to lift off the ground

3. Hold this position for 5 seconds

4. Lower your heels back onto the ground slowly

5. Repeat 10 more times

6. Repeat three more times
